Treo 800w
by Palm, Inc
>>
Read Review (Rating 5/5) <<
Given the state of the smartphone world today, I'm betting that many in the business set won't be getting the message about the Treo 800w, and that's a shame. It's more than competitive with the current generation of BlackBerrys (better, in my opinion) and even holds up fairly decently against the upcoming BlackBerry Bold (except, of course, in the looks department).
As for those of us who like to call ourselves "power users," the 800w has enough speed and space to handle pretty much any app or customization you might want to throw at it. It's a worthy successor to the venerable Treo 700wx, I just wish that it had arrived a year ago.

Lag in response, lockups, speaker distortion |
Upgraded from the 700WX to the 800W as a long-time Treo owner. I'm going back to the 700 or maybe the HTC Diamond. Very disappointed in Sprint and Palm.

Overall, one of Palm's best so far |
Great processor (755p crashed daily) very fast web, GPS is very nice(must have network access) Battery life better if you don't leave bluetooth/gps on always. Get spare charger/batt (you'll thank me later.

Better than a Blackberry |
I actually own and use the 800W. I was going to buy a Blackberry as I moved from my 700P, but decided to give the 800W a try.
It is a great device and superior to the present offering by Blackberry. The applications are superior, navigation is sensible and the monthly cost is better. In the real world, taking out the hype that surrounds the Blackberry, the 800W is the superior choice.

The best Treo yet |
This phone works perfect. I have had this one for over two weeks now and the only thing that I can find a problem with is the battery. It only last 4 hours. I went out and bought a charger and another battery and it works great. The phone has everything anyone needs and it all works great. This is my 5th Treo and it is the best yet!

A great little PDA at a good price. |
I wasn't sure about this at first because I didn't go to Spring with the intention of getting a Treo. However, Sprint has now revised its service plans so that all PDA functions are included in the Everything Plan price at no extra charge (when I first looked into them there was anywhere between a $30-40 charge per month for a PDA.
Likes: Very intuitive, easy to use, very functional, the GPS system works like a charm, lightweight, not overwhelming for a first time user.
Dislikes: It is damn near impossible to get the battery compartment to open, the sound quality for calls can sometimes be so-so. (I haven't watched much television on my phone -- who needs to watch TV on their phone after all?!?! -- but when I tested it, the sound quality was quite crackly).

Love it |
Switched from a 700p that I loved and as a long...time Palm user I had many reservations about going to the the dark side. So far I'm loving it.
